When I began writing my wrestling thoughts I had a pretty uncertain path I would take. With so many different characters and personal memories I didn't know where to begin. One thing I did no however is one person who I needed to interview was Harold Kennedy. I don't know Harold personally but Harold is the reason I began finding out about local shows in the area. Harold has spent countless hours working alongside the wrestlers, getting to know them in and outside of the ring. He helps feature the local promotions in his website newscott.com. Harold has given himself to the wrestling business.
So I wrote down a list of people that I needed to interview. I figured the person who would be be willing to share his thoughts and feelings about the wrestling business would be New Scott. I'm hoping to go far writing wrestling, but whether I do or I don't I'm glad I had the chance to interview New Scott.

Where did the name New Scott originate?
New Scott: Lincoln Steen named me after Scott Savage. There was a MSW show in Milford on October 17th 2001, I had been talking to Lincoln Steen online and asked him if it would be okay if I taped the show, he said it was fine. So I went to the show with JDL (Scott Savage) & the late Mike Zinck. It was there I met Lincoln Steen for the first time. He told me this story about a guy named Scott that use to go around with the wrestlers and help them in anyway like drive them around, set up rings, etc. Then I came around and started driving the wrestlers around and setting up rings with Scott, so Steen decided that having me around was like having a "New Scott" around and it just kind of stuck, and since that day everyone calls me New Scott. There are some people out there that don't even know my real name. Steen also taught me the special art of stacking chairs that day.

As a child who were some of you favorite wrestlers?
New Scott: The Ultimate Warrior was my all time favorite when I was a kid.

What do you think TNA needs to do in order to draw equal ratings as WWE?
New Scott: Give every belt in the promotion to Sarita, have her appear in ever segment of Impact and their pay per views.

What is the best gift professional wrestling has ever given to you?
New Scott: I don't know of any gifts it has given me, but it has allowed me to travel across the Maritimes and down into the USA as far as Pennsylvania as well as getting to meet, talk and spend time with alot of people I would have never otherwise gotten the chance to meet. I have taped shows and have gotten to be around such stars as Batista, the late Umaga, Afa, Samu, The Honky Tonk Man, Al Snow, Billy Gunn, Tito Santana, Virgil, Luke, Eugene, Traci Brooks, Angelina Love, Homicide, Pitbull Gary Wolfe, Gangrel, Robbie & Rory McAllister, Nikolai Volkoff, Taylor Matheny and a few others I am sure I am forgetting.
I also have had the chance to promote a few shows and in one of those shows, Sarah Dunsworth and myself broke the attendance record at the Halifax Forum MPC for wrestling with 800 fans packing in for Maritime Cup 3.
It has also given me alot of my close friends that I have today, very few of them are still wrestling but without it we would have never met. Team New Scott is still going to take over one day, just give it time lol

If you had the chance to interview Hulk Hogan but could only ask 2 questions what would they be?
New Scott:
1)Why didn't your match with Ric Flair happen at Wrestlemania 8?
2) Can I follow Brooke around with my video camera?
This question made me think of a funny story, when Smackdown was here (Halifax) in 2003 Chris Benoit was here doing press for it and someone involved with a local Maritime wrestling promotion (all of which will remain nameless) ran into Benoit in a bathroom. Now, if you met Chris Benoit in 2003 and had the chance to ask him one question, what would it be? well this guy asked him this... Who would win in a shoot fight Nathan Jones or Goldberg? Benoit's answer was Goldberg.

Inside or outside of wrestling what is the best advice you have ever received?
New Scott: Shut up, listen, do what you are told and don't complain about it.
It is a privilege to be involved in this business and too many people take it for granted.

Looking back on our interview one question lingering in my head..what is the proper technique for stacking chairs. I'd like to thank New Scott and I'd like to say Thanks for Listening!
