Hey Steen how are things?
Things are just fantastic right now.  It's been a while since I had time to myself during the summer month to chill with friends, camp and hit the gym like a demon after work.  Working 55 hours a week plus the gym means that Steen should be in fine looking shape at the end of the summer.

How is school going?
School has been excellent.  Finished my Work Term at AVR/Magic 94.9 in the Annapolis Valley last month and really enjoyed being on the air.  Hopefully it will come to be something I can do next year as a part time job.

There has been alot going on the past few months with regards to your status with MSW, tell us a little bit about what was going on?
MainStream Wrestling has been on a downward spiral since "White Juan" pretty much dinked the HTM tour.  There were talent problems, guys leaving/no showing/whatever.  And to cope with the loss of talent, I had to really bring my mat game to a level where it shouldn't be.  During the stint MSW had with Gangrel it really came into my sight path.  I wrestled Gangrel every night in the Main Event and we beat the hell out of each other, but I was waking up in the morning feeling fresh as a daisy which hasn't been the case after a MSW Show since the last night I wrestled Tony Armstrong for MSW.  Which translated that I was over working myself to continue to make MSW look credible.  I was busted my ass night in and night out for MSW, trying to make it a more credible promotion, lending not only my body in the ring, but trying to lend my mind for the business to MSW as well.  My body wasn't a problem, but apparently when it came to backstage my ideas and suggestions were normally shrugged off and went un-appreciated.  Then it came to the point where my in ring work was no longer being appreciated when I had someone tell me that the Match I had to physically drag out of one of the MSW talents, was "terrible and unexciting".  It was getting to a point where I wasn't having fun coming to work.  There was some new talent that just weren't improving, and some real good potential in two guys that wanted me to stick around and help them out and realize that potential.  MainStream Wrestling had bright hopes in 2003, but after the roster got smaller and smaller and replacing people like Savage, Sarah and Cinder were guys I wasn't even sure were trained.

Why did you finally decide to leave?
I made my dission to leave right after the terrible show in Kentville.  I said to myself that if the Gangrel tour isn't amazing (like the HTM tour would have been if "white Juan" didn't happen).  But when the lack luster roster showed up to kick off the tour I knew that my decision was made and started saying my good byes and good lucks to guys associated with MSW that made my time there fun.  I missed talking to some of them, but that's what happens sometimes.  I'm not going to bury the promotion during my stay with them, because I knew that I went out every night and made sure that every fan in that building got their money's worth from my match.  But fans pay to see a wrestling card... not just one wrestler.  I wasn't staying with MSW to benefit my ego nor my wallet.  I was there because I thought that things would pick up, they didn't.

What is your feeling on Devin Chttick letting the Darthmouth Pig Dog Rubgy player in the MSW Royal Rumble?
I'm not a big fan of taking someone out of your regular crowd and throwing him into a ring.  But had to go along with it for the sake of the office.  Wrestling isn't something you can make a quick buck off with one addition for one night only.  We had a big crowd in there yes, but they didn't come back the next time.
I felt good for the Pig Dog though, after discovering what it felt like to have Steen and Tony chop, forearm and even a Vance Nevada blessed back chop felt like, he was thanking me for the oppurtunity to get a chance in the ring and was very humbled.
So wrestling business wise, bad idea.  But it felt good to hear someone thank me for letting them realize a dream.

Did you leaving MSW have anything to do with the way most of the top talent in the country such as Mike Hughes & Kingman feel about the promotion?
Not at all.  While Mike and Kingman were both very vocal to me about MainStream Wrestling and it's associates, but their opinion had no effect on my decision.  I took the advice I needed from every guy who has been there before I was to heart, but they never said to leave.  I made that choice on my own.

Last summer MSW seemed to be on the right track, for one night they has a roster of Chi Chi Cruz, Gary Williams, Sarah Stock, Scott Savage & Yourself all of R.A.W. fame, Cruz worked a few other shows for MSW as well. What went wrong? Why couldn't MSW keep a soild top tier talent base?
The answer is simple.  Money.  I look at it this way, if you are looking to get your hair cut.  You can go to the salon and pay ten bucks to have it professionally cut OR you can go accross the street to the Barber Collage and have it cut for free by students.  Which would you choose?  Sure you might get a decent hair cut from one of the ten students, but why take the chance on a missing ear when you can get it done right by paying for it?  In wrestling, you might find one guy with talent willing to work for nothing, but it doesn't happen very often.  The rest of the time you get guys wrestling for you that can't wrestle any where else because they aren't worth it to be paid.  I'm sure top guys wrestle sometimes for free, but not every time they step into the ring.  And I'm not saying that no one in MSW gets paid.  But as you can tell by my leaving that a lot of people weren't worth paying.

When did things for MSW start to fall apart?
As stated earlier the breaking point was the HTM tour.  But it was slowly corroding when I took September off, I came back and the houses were down, Sarah left, Savage left, Cinder left, Vinny wasn't around a lot.  Times were shitty, but Tony and I really turned it up to end off 2003.  But the HTM tour is the reason why MSW is in it's current state.

Do you think that MSW will be around much longer?
All MSW is right now is one man and a ring.  They aren't even running shows at Doolittles right now.  They have no roster, no ring truck and in tail, no future.  I am saddened that something that I had a part in building (along with Devin, Scott, Tony and Sarah) may come to an end.  But they can't continue to run shows with the people they have been running with or they will be no better then the backyard promotions running shows that I've heard about in North Sydney, Kentville and Canning.

Guys like Scotia Soul, Pistol Pete & CN Power have been critized heavily on only being half trained talent that MSW uses pretty much on a regular basis, what are your feelings on this?
I will be the first to say that they are fully trained by MSW standards.  They just aren't as well trained as say a Cinder or Vinny Glyde.  But with those individuals having only myself and Tony to go to for advice, it doesn't yeild them a lot of knowledge as I've only been wrestling 4 years and Tony has 2 years.  Sure, I've picked up a lot of stuff from Watts, Nevada, Cheech and Mike, but only have really scratched the surface.  But like I say when asked about wrestling training, you can do all the moves you see in the ring, but that only makes you 15% ready to be a wrestler.  Any 15 year old kid can bodyslam another kid but the moves are the easy part.

There is no question that your one of the most talented wrestlers in the Maritimes. But alot of people look at you and think, if we was in shape he could be so much better. Even Kingman had this to say, "Nice guy, marginal worker, grotesque body." Care to comment on this?
I don't think it is a question of me being "in shape" as more as being in better shape.  Because if I wasn't in shape I wouldn't be able to climb into the ring and do what I do.  But it has been one of my biggest mountains to climb.  I've got to be more disiplined and hit the gym on more of a regular basis.  I feel that my current gut size is the determining factor in me making it to the next step. ps when kingman last saw me I was 240 and in terrible shape.

Do to you feel that because Tony Armstrong is the only wrestler on the MSW that went to the gym fulltime that he worked harder at becoming a well respected wrestler than anyone else?
Tony looks fantastic since his newly found love of the gym.  But I don't believe that for those who know Tony at all know that he already has all of my respect and then some before he hit the gym.  He still gets the odd MR. EGO thumb to the nose, lol.

What do you think of TNA's decision to use a six-sided ring?

Where are my tapes?  I haven't seen much of TNA but would like some copies of any of Rude's stuff during his stay there.  And on the topic of tapes...  is my best of chris benoit going to have his retirement match on it?

Overall how where the HTM and Gangrel tours for you?
From a match standpoint I only had one bad night.  Gangrel was excellent to be around and looks tremendous.  It was great to be in the ring with him and I look forward to hearing from him again soon.  Honky was also great to talk to as we shared some tales.  I look forward to seeing them again sometime down the road.

How do you feel when someone else comes from another territory and tries to tell you how to run things, Example, during the Honky Tonk Man tour a guy named Kevin Thomas came up from the states with the NWH guys how do you feel when someone like that comes into your promotion and acts like he did?

Mainstream is by no means my promotion, it belongs to Devin Chittick, I just worked for them.  But I'd like to think of the Maritimes as my territory as I have spent most of my short career here.  I know that if I walked into a dressing room and yelled at the two top talents to start doing ring crew and set up work, I'd have a limp for a few years and probably stutter when I talk.  Every promotion/territory/office expects something different.  Just because in Maine, the guys that have paid their dues still set up the ring doesn't mean that it works that way in Nova Scotia.  Now if I was in some place like Maine and was asked to do something by the office, I'd do it.  No questions asked.  If it's my first time working somewhere, I'm a the bottom rung of the ladder and have to start working hard to get higher.

What are your thoughts on "Just Wrestling" ? The new promotion from B.C.
I've been saying from day one that putting a brand name on wrestling events was a bad idea.  Still people talk about RAW, ECPW, ACW and MSW like they are talking about different countries, although wrestlers from all those brands have been involved in the other brand.
Why not promote wrestling rather then "blank" "blank" Wrestling?  Attaching a name like for example "Beaver Entertainment, Inc" to promote wrestling isn't just promoting wrestling but promoting that company.  Fans want to see wrestling but sometimes that's hidden behind a companies slogan or logo.  It's what happens in the ring that people by into and that should be the focus of a promotion.
"Just Wrestling" should hopefully prove my theory right.  And most likely will with the mind that is behind the idea.  I've seen only a few guys from there roster and heard nothing but good things about the rest.  Hopefully everything will work out for those involved in that endeavour.

Who's better The Lizzard, The Retarded Butcher or Marko Estrada?

Aren't they in fact all the same person?  HA HA HA I got you good you "slip into perfect english when the time is right" French Fuck.

New Scott the ref or New Scott the Camera which is better?

Nothing beats New Scott Video

Finally now that your done with MSW what does the wrestling future hold for you?

Right now I'm not sure.  Hopefully something will come my way.  Anyone interested in booking me can contact me via E-mail at lincolnsteen@hotmail.com

Any final comments
I hate Terry Zehr and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Name Association

Cinder - haven't heard from him in a while.  too long.  he should really keep in contact.  seriously.  contact me buddy

Tony Armstrong
- has really been on the right track since he hit the gym hard.  one of these days he will be more like his idol... the lizzard.

Scott Savage
- who?  I know for sure I know this guy but don't hear from him much too often.  CALL ME YOU COCK SUCKER!!! I'm sure he has his reasons but I would like to hear from this guy again really soon, as I'm sure you do too new scott... maybe he has moved in with his lady friend in Taylor's Creek.

Bobby Rude - have only seen pictures of this guy with TNA, longer hair looks good... starting to look like mine though.  One of Canada's best... it's good to see him coming out to the national anthem.  hopefully will hear from him soon

Devin Chittick
- living proof that hard work can only get you so close to your goal.  also living proof that you don't piss where you sleep and don't bite the hand of those who feed you.  I've been around Devin longer then anyone else in MainStream, I've seen him at his highs and also at his absolute lows.  Hopefully he can do something else other then wrestling that satisfys some sort of life for himself.  Half of Devin's problem that he put too much thought into MSW and not enough for Devin Chittick.  It's time that Devin focused on Devin and not on wrestling.

CN Power - A nice guy, but sadly, will never be a decent wrestler.  I like Lamb, his heart is there, but mentally and physically it isn't.

Scotia Soul - here's a guy with tons of charisma and tons of potential, hopefully can get to a Sinners Camp and realize that potential

Paco - great guy and with wrestling more experianced talent can only get better.  where is my ten bucks you owe me you mexican fuck.

Miss Chevius
- Smoking hot West Coast talent.  Hopefully will make her way east to Chateau Steen.  and maybe a wrestling booking or two.

Vinny Glyde - "Vinny, You're an moron", Vinny has all a man can ask for wikid job, a piece of shit car, but a smoking hot fiance. (she's not only good to look at but killer to talk to)

Santone - Fun guy, Great Manager, terrible wrestler, but he was put into a position that he himself didn't want

Gangrel - Medium buddy what?  Great in the ring and fun to hit the town with.

Honky Tonk Man - fun in the ring and a great story teller, fun guy

Tyson Dux - seen him in Halifax for WWE looked pretty good, his dance couldn't hold a candle to Savage.

Kingman
- I was at Trash's place one day and all that Trash's wife could say was how much bigger he is... is doing extremely well for himself.
