Hey Vinny how's the job going?
It shouldn't be considered a "job". I feel like I'm getting away with highway robbery. On air at CKEC is incredible. Getting paid to talk and listen to music I like, sounds like a good deal to me. Plus, everyone there is fantastic, and the opportunities I'm having are incredible. So much fun. Everyone listen online at ckec.com between 1-3 for The Countryside and 8-12 for The Night Ride.

There has been alot going on the past few months with regards to your status with MSW, tell us a little bit about what was going on?
Well, not being a fulltime member of the roster, for one thing simply met I wasn't always there. I work fulltime at CKEC, and could make what bookings I could. Luckily, we had of couple tours come through Pictou County, so I had more opportunity. But I wasn't going to travel every week to Halifax. I couldn't trust my shit box car, and while I was finally getting paid better, it still wasn't enough to make it worth my while due to these filthy gas prices!

Devin has completely turned around from the way he was when I first entered Mainstream. He tried to block me from coming, but now, he has realized I was good for him. He put that strap on me, and had me feud with Steen, which wasn't exactly bad, but I hope that wasn't him trying to entice me to stay.
If you are talking about the things happening INSIDE MSW, I'll address that in a later question.

Why did you finally decide to leave?
I always love performing for a crowd, and I always love letting Vinny loose, no matter if we are in an arena, or in Doolittles. When that attitude changed, like, when I would rather see if that fucking mark would actually get in the ring so I could beat the shit out of him; instead of trying to have a good match....that meant it was time to go. I had a good talk with Gangrel, and conversations with Kowboy and Kingman hit home then.

What is your feeling on Devin Chttick letting the Darthmouth Pig Dog Rubgy player in the MSW Royal Rumble?
I never think it's good to let an untrained person in the ring, but hey that was MSW's calling card wasn't it? Seriously though, I never like the idea of letting a mark step in the ring, I thought it was stupid. But he got his ass kicked and learned something, so it wasn't all bad. I just wish that SMU fuck would get in the ring...

Did you leaving MSW having anything to do with the way most of the top talent in the country such as Mike Hughes & Kingman feel about the promotion?
Okay, here we go. Mainstream was perfect for me when I was in school in Halifax. Short distance to go for a show, weekly guarantee, fun time. I understand when I was home for the summer, MSW had the privilege of Chi Chi Cruz and Wildmark Gary Williams on their roster. That got me excited to return. But when I did, there was no vets like that, just the wrestling genius known as Seaman White.
Everyone was in bad spirits about White's reckless ways, especially Cinder, and things weren't near what I thought they'd be like coming back. But when Seaman was ejaculated back to Newfie-backyard-land, things didn't get any better. No more Tony, no more Cinder. Hello CN Power. Now, I actually had fun working with Lamb, but it didn't do anything for me that's for sure. MSW never recovered from that point in time.
The roster was for the most part, comprised of improperly trained guys, with an inbred fear of the gym. (Not that I can talk) Personally, I justified being there for a while with, "I'm getting paid alright now, there's Paco and Steen to work with, Doolittle's has free beer and hot chicks who want me"...but after the light came on, I couldn't justify it anymore. And this is what made the light come on: during the one Honky Tonk Tour stop I was a part of, the show was actually pretty good, with a good mix of talent. Then, with hopes up, I got excited about the Gangrel tour, and that card sucked.
So, there was the realization that the show wasn't fully legit, which hurt how I look, and then I talked to Gangrel about things. While he didn't tell me to leave or say anything that made me decide, it was just our talk about the business in general which got my gears spinning and led to my decision to leave. Kowboy always knows what he is talking about, but as I said before, Kingman's advice was always that the most important thing to me was to get as many matches as possible.

Are you content with the way you conducted yourself in Mainstream and how seriously you took wrestling?

I always conducted myself in a proper manner. Just read the "respect" portion of my commentary. For the most part, I was put in the position to come up with matches, so I did my very best to put the most sensical product to canvass.
I ALWAYS take things seriously. As far as my physical appearance goes, it's hard to remain motivated from a wrestling standpoint when, from a wrestling standpoint you are surrounded by half-assedness. And also, I didn't even give appearing in MSW full attention. I work six days a week, and have a fiance who constantly tells me "I love you how you are" and "here, I'll give you a workout right now." Seriously. But those aren't excuses, they are just contributing factors to my mentally challenged thinking that it was okay not to be committed "right now". It's my fault, and I'm honing up...but I'm fixing things right now.

Last summer MSW seemed to be on the right track, for one night they had a roster of Chi Chi Cruz, Gary Williams, Sarah Stock, Scott Savage & Lincoln Steen all of R.A.W. fame, Cruz worked a few other shows for MSW as well.  What went wrong? Why couldn't MSW keep a soild top tier talent base?
Devin seems content to run a wrestling show to run a wrestling show. It's kind of a markish attitude, but he'd rather run with a ball of shit, then clean it off, let it dry and start over. Pure wonderful circumstance brought Gary and Cheech in, but Devin doesn't have real money to keep a good roster. I'm a rookie, and as green as Cinder's lungs, but still, I wasn't making what I really should have. Devin cut costs where he shouldn't have, and you can't do that to run successfully.

Guys like Scotia Soul, Pistol Pete & CN Power have been critized heavily on only being half trained talent that MSW uses pretty much on a regular basis, what are your feelings on this?
Some may argue, including the aforementioned, that they are trained. But in- ring practice doesn't mean FULLY trained. AGAIN, I go back to the respect issue, and the psychology. Those guys never had a chance to be introduced to true ring psychology, storytelling, and the deep inside stuff of wrestling.
There's also conduct of behaviour, and the respect. CN Power knew all about respect, but not mental or physical traits. Pistol Pete was a gimmick, and he served his purpose. Scotia Soul is in okay shape, has tonnes of charisma, but doesn't have the first clue about how to conduct himself. No respect at all.
But, their teacher, the main man, Devin, was unfortunate enough not to have exposure to that either, so maybe he doesn't see as much negative in these guys as others do. And how can you ever expect these guys to have a chance?

Do you think that MSW will be around much longer?

I hope not. And I don't mean that as a negative thing. I don't mean disrespect to Devin. I just agree with Kingman, that MSW needs to step aside so this true, huge, top notch promotion can begin. I think the Maritimes as a territory, needs recovery time. And I also agree that Devin needs to look after himself, and find something that makes him HAPPY, because he is not a happy man.

We know how Lincoln Steen feels about guys working free, I am sure everyone had read that commentary by now, but how do you feel about it?

That's an easy one. He didn't need a commentary to get the point across. It's common sense, for something as dangerous as wrestling, where there are so many risks...you need to be rewarded for your passion, and working for free not only demeans yourself, but it hurts the business. If people are willing to work for free, odds are, they aren't the best, but a promoter will hire him quicker, thus putting talented guys on the back burner, and declining show quality.
Now, why don't you ask about a REAL commentary? Be a reporter and find out what was behind mine.

Okay, what were you trying to acheive with your commentary?

Call it a state of the union address. The Maritimes are being starved after the feast. The Maritimes need to have its system flushed out before the real "diet" of great wrestling returns. MSW doesn't contribute to that. Backyard fools don't contribute to that.
I also wanted my fans or my detractors to know why I was doing what I was doing. And I also wanted to correct a feeling that I was a lazy piece of shit. I pride myself in how hard I work at things, I wouldn't be engaged if I didn't. While Trash loves to take opportunity to run my name down, basically since he never has any real ammunition, and others just seem to prefer shooting off about wrestling than actually supporting something...I was hoping to open people's eyes and start generating positive discussion.

Overall how where the HTM and Gangrel tours for you?

I only wrestled on one show that Honky Tonk was in town for. It was at the Roseland Cabaret, and it was a great honour to tag with HTM in the main event. Apart from our match, and the fun night, Honky Tonk was an exceptional guy, for the advice he offered and his insights on the business. I was surprised with how much he shared, and how much he talked to EVERYONE. It was also a great privilege to have him on the air at CKEC for an in depth interview where he had many interesting things to say. I must say, that the interview topped even what YOU are capable of, New Scott.
The Gangrel tour was again, just two shows for yours truly. But aside from this time being the end of my stint in MSW, I earned a good friend in the Vampire Warrior. Medium Buddy was awesome to party with, tear the Roseland down with, and most importantly, talk in depth about the business.

Do to you feel that because Tony Armstrong was the only wrestler on the MSW  roster that knew what the inside of a gym looks like, that he worked harder at becoming a well respected wrestler than anyone else?
I don't agree with that at all. And Tony would be the first person to disagree. Tony deserves kudos for his decision to buckle down and do something about his shape. Eventually, Steen and I came to the same realizations he did. But it's a matter of philosophy, different for each person. I worked hard every night I stepped in the ring, and I definetely did tonnes to promote the MSW shows in this area. Anybody who steps in the ring at any given time (who is trained and has a grasp for psychology) is working hard.
Also, Tony is doing a lot of what he's doing for himself and his well being, in front of doing it to become a respected wrestler. Now, people can call me fat on the mark boards, but you can't dispute my willingness to entertain, work hard, and totally put every mark in their place while on the mic.

What do you think of TNA's decision to use a six-sided ring?
I'm someone who loves change, from the smallest thing to the biggest thing, and I think it's an innovative idea that will breathe a blast of fresh air into an already creative promotion. The possibilities are endless, and I hope TNA can step it up.

There is no question that your one of the most talented wrestlers in the Maritimes. But alot of people look at you and think, if we was in shape he could be so much better.  Care to comment on this?
I've commented enough on this. I can put on an entertaining match, I can work to a certain extent of quality. But to further myself, to make something of myself, I have to be in excellent shape. But that's up to me, and nobody else, so leave me to it.

Why didn't you leave MSW and stick with you friend Cinder when he left?
Because I was still in school and had something to gain from it. And Cinder left because he big-leagued Chittick. And how much of a friend is someone really, if they never contact you, or give you the time of day?

Your thoughts on current rumors that the Kardinal Sinners may return to the Maritimes?
I think it's going to happen. This will be the best thing to happen in the Maritimes in a long time. The money man is there, there's a huge possibility of TV, and a very recognisable international star as the third member. I just can't wait for March. It's going to be a long winter in Saskatchewan.

If the rumors are true that a new promotion is starting up next spring, why do you think they should book you? What could Vinny Glyde bring to the table that would want to make the new promoter book you?
Vinny Glyde will be booked to be a part of this promotion. I just have to hold up my end of a bargain, and I will be there. It's an honour, it's a privilege, and I can't wait to get on that microphone and put the Maritime Glyde wannabes in there place. I will bring my same dancing and romancing, plus my unique wrestling ability, as well as class, style and talent unmatched by any.

Finally now that your done with MSW what does the wrestling future hold for you?
Come September, look for Vinny Glyde to finally reach out and extend his disco branch. I will be living and attending school in Saskatchewan, and so I hope to explore Western Canadian wrestling opportunities. I will return to the Maritimes with this brand new, huge promotion, God willing.

Name Association

Kingman and Kowboy Mike Hughes - the nuclei of Maritime wrestling. Very happy and proud of their international success, and I owe all that I am in the business to these guys. Mentors, entertainers, bullies, warriors, sinners...all words to describe the Kardinal ones. If the success of this new promotion depends on them, consider it successful

Bobby Rude - Canada's greatest export to TNA. He's a wonderful ambassador, and definetely worth looking up to, from the vantage point of a young buc like me.

Cinder - who?

Cathy Yetman - A very dedicated, hard working observer of the wrestling business. Very professional, and she has one fine ass.

CN Power - real nice guy, may never be much of a wrassler. Has lots of respect, and I would like to say he listens well, but he hasn't taken advice to the fullest, and therefore he's stuck because of it.

Pistol Pete - fast talker, great bartender. Helped make Vinny look good, hopefully he can learn a little more about the business

Scotia Soul - needs a better gimmick. Has tonnes of potential, but that won't get him anywhere until he learns respect and how to conduct himself

Paco - potential to be a cruiserweight superstar. Hopefully Paco can distance himself from a bad rep for being in a bad place, and get into the hands of the Sinners

Santone - why did he stop smiling? Great heel manager because he looks like he touches children. A face for the business, and a funny man

Honky Tonk Man - consummate veteran. He knows how to market and make money. Forever appreciative for his time and his knowledge-sharing

Gangrel - the medium buddy. I taught him how to dance, he taught me how to spew blood on idiot fans. Can call him a friend, very surprised how cool and pleasant he was

Marko Estrada - the ladies like him ALMOST as much as they do Vinny. Unfortunately he doesn't know what to do with them, and probably never will. Use your head Marko, use your head...and that's not about the ladies

Outcast - looks the part. Smells the part. But a real nice guy. If you could harness the ability of your zoo bus for good, I have a profit idea for you: bangbus.com check it out!
