Hello there again. How have you been since the last interview?
I have been ok I guess. A lot of stuff has happened since the last interview I got from you. I've been doing a lot of moving, which I'm tired of...lol And I've been doing a lot of traveling which I am thankful for. But I've been doing well overall...just thankful to be wrestling!

Why the recent move back to Ontario?
The recent move back to Ontario happened for a few reasons. For one, my living arrangements out in Halifax didn't work out like I'd hoped that they would. Also, I was really home sick for a while, because I'd never really been outside of Ontario before, and all of a sudden I made the move out to Nova Scotia. Don't get me wrong, I love the Maritimes, but there wasn't a place where I could train in the ring 3-4 times a week. Kowboy Mike Hughes invited me to his school to train anytime I want, but it was in Moncton, and I was in Halifax, and I couldn’t really get down there. It would have been an honor to train with him and Kingman, but I just couldn't make it down there. I have full intentions on getting there one of these days though. But I'm glad to be back home, where I can train with the ol' Wrestle-Corps pals of mine, formerly known as Camp Martell. A few days ago, I actually got to be there and get in the ring with Flexx Falcone as he took his first few bumps since the car accident in the summer...so it was a real honor to be back with him. I'm glad to be home, but I miss the Maritimes as well.

You have wrestled for three different promotions here in the Maritimes, mostly MSW but you also worked for RAW and UCW. Can you tell us which promotion you had the most fun working for?
Wow...that’s a tough call. MSW has given me the majority of my matches. As of today, January 11th, 2003, I've only had 35 professional matches, and most of them have been for Devin Chittick and Mainstream Wrestling. The most fun I had was probably with UCW though. "Kowboy" Mike Hughes and I first met at the final RAW taping in July, and he invited me to work for UCW, so I got to meet a lot of cool people and listen to stories from Kingman, who was a joy to be around. I love talking to the vets, and hearing their stories and hear what the have to say, so it was fun to be at the UCW show. At the Real Action Wrestling final TV taping, I didn't really get to talk to a whole lot of the guys, because of low morale, obviously because of the boys getting screwed out of their money. But I hung in there, and talked to guys like Kowboy, Vance Nevada, Gary Williams, and all the guys who would just spread there knowledge to me. But UCW was where I had the most fun. I went out there, in a new province where I had never been before, and wrestled my trainer, Jerry Martell, and got paid. I can not wait to wrestle for them again.

Can you tell us a little bit about all three promotions?

Mainstream Wrestling - A lot of guys who want to wrestle, but I'm not really sure if they want to go any further than MSW. Don't get me wrong, MSW gets a lot of heat, but the guys on that roster really want to be wrestlers. I read a Lincoln Steen interview where he said something along the lines that the MSW workers needs to travel and get there names heard, and this is one of those rare occasions that I can say I see eye-to-eye with him, and say that he is absolutely right. MSW has a lot of guys who if they wanted to get their names out there, they can, but I think there is something holding them back. What it is, I don't know. Off the top of my head, Cypress...now this is a guy who really, really, wants it, but just doesn't have the proper people to guide him. I wish the guys in MSW nothing but the best. I hope to one day work for them again.

Real Action Wrestling - I can't say a whole lot about them. I wasn't around for the whole downside of the company, I was only there for one show. I wrestled Vance Nevada for MSW a few days before hand, and he told me to show up at the Halifax Forum for the TV taping, and he'd see if he could get me in. I showed up, with Jerry Martell, and he talked to Brian Marchant, and got Jerry and I a quick spot/match. I wish things would have worked out for RAW in a positive way, because it was always a goal of mine, since I started to really follow independent wrestling, to wrestle for RAW. I did, but its kind of a shallow, and hallow feeling because of the circumstances.

Ultimate Championship Wrestling - A blast. Like I said before, I love to listen to vets tell me stories, and how I can better myself, and this was the chance for me to do so. I guess I must have made a good impression at the RAW taping, because Kowboy invited me to be apart of UCW. The first show was awesome. I can't wait to work with them again, and see Mike Hughes again, because he has given me a lot of great advice over the last few months.

Will we see Shawn Morgan back with UCW or MSW?
I hope so. I had talked to UCW about me moving back to Ontario, and they said they would still keep me aboard. Not only Kowboy, but Skott Gallant said to me "you will always be welcome to wrestle anywhere that I am, or a part of". That meant the world to me. So hopefully I'll be back for UCW. As for MSW, I hope I'll be back with them as well, I just need to hear back from the promoter.

When you and Jerry Martell wrestled for RAW, Jerry had to change his name, why were you allowed to still use yours?
Well, when Jerry and I got the venue, and were told we would be working each other, Brian had asked us what our gimmick names were, and we told him. He said "well, you used those names for our competition, so we'll change them." He gave Jerry some retarted name that didn't even sound like anything, but forgot to say anything to me. Eventually, Eddie Watts came up to me, asked me what my name was, and I told him, "Superstar" Shawn Morgan. All he said was, "well, kid, Shawn Morgan it is...you just lost your "Superstar" status". I didn't care. When we went out there, everyone there knew who we were and it was very overwhelming.

Who do you think was the best all-around wrestler in the Maritimes this past summer?
Well, as far as success goes, hands down, Bobby Rude. He was amazing this year, and any year. He is just such a great talent. I was also a big fan of "Kowboy" Mike Hughes.

Do you think RAW will be back in 2003?
I don't think so. I hate to sound like a broken record, but the boys really are tight, and the RAW owners, from what I hear, owe a nice chunk of coin to a lot of the boys. I'm still waiting for this interview, or statement from Warren Olsen. Then again, who knows, I keep hearing about, saying its going to happen. Then again, the RAW boys were told they were getting paid...who knows. I'd say its doubtful that RAW will be back, unless someone buys the company.

What was your best match from this past year?
It was against Vance Nevada in front of like 10 people in Musquidobit Harbor for a fair show. Was it the most physically intense match? No. Was it full of high spots? No. Was New Scott there to tape it. or anyone for that matter to tape it? No. But that was the match where I can say "I learned a lot for that match". That was defiantly a highlight. My other favorite match was against JDL/Scott Savage for Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, in Hamilton, Ontario. I've yet to see it on tape, but I can honestly say, that he is one of those guys who can bring out the best of me.

What is your favourite road trip story from this past year?
It was when Myself, Jerry, Scott Savage, and Devin Chittick drove to Ontario from Halifax. Weather it be Scott's encounter on the Ontario boarder with the toilet, and the rest of us laughing our asses off while Scott locked the door and other guys were trying to get in, or the ride back after the GLCW show, while we learned about certain people with mullets who hit the gym all the time...defiantly classic road stories. I didn't really get a whole lot of good Maritime road stories, all though when New Scott drove me and Jerry and Steen to a show, every speed bump New Scott hit, Jerry kept smashing his head off the roof...ahh...good times...lol

How are things going with GLCW?
Great! GLCW is going in a new direction. New People added to the roster, new venues, new people involved...I'm pumped! I can't really say a whole lot, but keep checking www.glcwrestling.com for information. Defiantly going to be huge.

What plans do you have for wrestling over the winter?
Whatever I can get. In Ontario, you need to pay 75 bucks for a license before you can wrestle for the year, and I need to get that still. My plan is to travel with the Ebony Express (JQ Public and Reggie Marley) to all the shows there are on and see if I can't get on them as well. I want to get my face out there in 2003.

In my last interview with Lincoln Steen, he said the following about you "has a lot of potential... needs to drop the superstar... It may have gotten to his head" also Kowboy mentioned that you "need better gimmick" Do you have any thoughts on that?
To be honest, with Lincoln Steen and I, we don't really see eye to eye on a whole lot of things, so that doesn't bother me, whatever he says. He has bad things to say about me, I have bad things to say about him. I'm sure he has some good things to say about me as well, as do I about him, but I just choose to avoid the whole situation. As for the "Superstar thing going to my head", whatever. I'm a very down to earth person, but I also know what good wrestling should consist of. I know that I'm not nearly to the point where I can say "I'm a great worker", but I can say I bust my balls off to try and get there. I know what it takes to get there, just doing it, and having the ability are 2 different things. Not to say I don't have the ability...I just don't have the experience. The Superstar name is exactly what its supposed to be, a gimmick. I will never ever claim to be a "Superstar", and anyone who has every met me, or has talked to me could back that up. What he's talking about, I don't know, and don't care. As for Kowboy, I asked him what he meant by it, and what he told me, I completely understood. I need to develop a better character, and a better "gimmick", such as appearance-wise. That can all be worked on in the future, I'm still young. I just appreciate the email approach, or contacting me anyways, for advice to help better myself, rather than reading it in some bullshit interview. If any worker can give me advice, I'm more than willing to hear it and accept that criticism...but I've seen a few instances where people say stuff about me in New Scott interviews, but never want to tell me these things to my face or in an email. I think its more respectful to tell me what my flaws are before telling the entire world wide web.

Why do you think Jerry and Morgan have stepped away from GLCW and Camp Martell?
I know why they did. I know the whole story. I just don't want to get into because it frustrates the hell out of me. I promised to shoot with you on this interview, but there has to be somewhere where I draw the line, so I apologize to those who are reading this interview.

Since you have worked a lot in Maritimes and in Ontario, which do you like better? why?
Anywhere where I can get work, is where I'm happy. Although I can say that I enjoy the Maritimes a bit better than Ontario because of its history, and the vets are willing to teach the rookies, such as myself. So if I had to choose one or the other, Maritimes, all the way!

What’s better New Scott Video or Eastlink?
Well...Eastlink cut Jerry and I off TV because Vance came in, beat us both up and then cut a promo where he told the truth, and I didn't see it on the final cut of the TV taping. But, if you order the New Scott version of that show, you can see everything. Advantage - New Scott. Plus, Eastlink didn’t let me come over to there headquarters and pretty much rape there tape collection....so screw them! NEW SCOTT!!!!

What happened between Jerry and Quinson? Why the break up?
Like I said before...I draw the line there because those 2 guys just aren't my trainers, they are both people who have impacted my life. Why they broke up, I don't think they fully have. They are just focussuing on there own careers now. It's hard to be a tag team, when one is in Ontario and the other is in Halifax. So take that for what its worth.

You were the very first New Scott interview ever, now your first one of 2003. How does make you feel?
It makes me feel like I am even more deserving of a New Scott T-Shirt, but I have still yet to get one. It's cool...this website is a very popular website. Slam Wrestling even emailed Mr. New Scott himself to tell him that his website is beating theirs. So it's an honor. Even though I think New Scott ignored me while I was down there because I wanted his tape collection so bad, he and Mrs. New Scott made me feel welcome to the Maritimes, and for that I am thankful. But I still want my damn shirt New Scott!!!

Your biggest fan wants to know why your doing this interview and not wrestling?
Because I am too blown up! lol Well...its 12:20am on a Saturday morning...I'll be wrestling a few short hours when I go and take some bumps with the Ebony Express! I'll be back to the Maritimes to please the little lady! Because lord knows I can please that little lady like no other...and her boyfriend is just jealous!! You hang in their sweetheart...daddy is coming home! :)

Any closing message for the fans?
Yes...please, support independent wrestling, where ever it is. Except for Shane Kings backyard BS. If you follows the Indies at all, you know who's who. Support the wrestlers and the companies who come to your area. Also, please see www.glcwrestling.com for more details on our shows, and also check out what was formerly known as Camp Martell, Wrestle Corps, at www.wrestlecorps.com and see what we are up too. My website should also be back up and running soon, it is being re-designed as we speak... www.shawnmorgan.cjb.net so go and check it out. And To any of you fan who have paid money to see me wrestle, thank you for making my dreams come true. Without you fans, I wouldn't be able to live my dream. Thank you.

Name Association

Mike Hughes - He'll probably hate me saying this...lol The nicest person I have ever met in wrestling. A true class act who is willing to give me advice when I need it the most. God love him. Amazing worker, amazing talent, and should send that damn package of his into Vince! The WWE is dying for a talent like you Mike! Thank you for you kind words about me.

Vance Nevada - Amazing. A true veteran of the sport, and an inspiration to me. He taught me a lot, and continues too. I thank him for the kind words he has said about me. I hope to see him very soon.

Lincoln Steen - In my opinion, he needs to stop living in the past. The things he learned in RAW and from Vance are awesome, and I'm proud he has had some great people to guide him, because those are great people, but if he relies on them less, and focuses on getting himself better, all by himself, that is one hell of a talent waiting to pop out and say "hello wrestling world, I have arrived".

Scott Savage - Brings out the best in me. The most polite person in wrestling. Great friend.

Sweet Sarah - She could make a killing in the Maritimes, and is a great talent. I hope to see her again soon, because she is one great gal.

Kingman - The most intimidating man I have ever met in my life. Has some great stories.

Chaos - I feel bad because I couldn't finish our match due to my ankle busting the 2nd move into our match. I would like to work him again.

Vinny Glyde - Hell of a talent. Wish he would have said negative things to me first before telling the world wide web. Would love to work him again as well.

Cinder - The future.

Tony Armstrong - Hilarious. Great guy.

Skott Phoenix - Rubs me the wrong way. I don't know why. We never seamed to have that bond between the workers. I'd love to speak with him further on that.
