How did you get started in the wrestling business?
I got started in 1986 after going to a show in Souris, MB that Ernest "Frenchy" Rheault had put on. My best friend Mark Charles and I approached Ernest after the show about how to get involved and with a couple of weeks we were training.

What was the hardest part of your training?
I didn't think of the training as hard because I was so eager and hungry to learn and being 16 at the time, I was just hyped on the fact that I was in a ring! We would take the bus Saturday morning for 3 - 4 hours after school all week and come back home Sunday night. We trained in the winter in a huge shed with no heat, down to -30 Celsius, wearing big parkas, freezing half to death and loving every second of it because I wanted it more than anything. Anyone who finds it hard doesn't want it bad enough.

What where you up to during the 2001-2002 winter?
I was doing northern tours of MB and trying to get involved in some movie work (still trying).

When you were first starting out, who did you look up too the most?
Hulk Hogan for the way he could captivate a crowd with charisma, and Ric Flair for the way he could control the crowd with the way he worked the match physically.

Growing up who were your favourite wrestlers?
Road Warriors, Flair, Hogan

At the start of 2002 many others left R.A.W. and joined A.C.W. Why do you think they made that move?
I'm not going to speculate on other people's business
decisions because it's not my place.

Why did you stay with R.A.W.?
I stayed because I had a good time on the road last year and although I went home early because of a financial dispute, it was merely business and not personal. I enjoy working for R.A.W. and they treat me very well. Why would I want to leave?

Could you give your opinion on all three promotions running in the Maritimes

Atlantic Coast Wrestling - You can have a ship with the greatest sailors but if the Captain doesn't know where he's headed, they're going to get lost at sea.

Mainstream Wrestling - no competition

Real Action Wrestling - We're off to a great start this summer, I hope it keeps up!

There are also two other groups out there Canadian Wrestling Federation and Maritime Wrestling Alliance. Many people feel these are backyard promotions. Your feeling on this and your feeling on backyard wrestling in general.
Backyard wrestling is killing the business. You don't pay to see a band that can't play their instruments, so why do these guys try to get people to pay to see them wrestle. Keep it in your backyard and invite your friends to watch you fuck up spots and take shitty bumps but don't advertise to the public because you don't belong in front of them.

Your opinion on the WWE TV. show Tough Enough
I haven't actually watched it but apparently there is a big market for reality TV. The notion of someone getting a contract after only 9 weeks irritates me though

People pay to see you wrestle because...
Frank Parker might be the referee.

Who do you feel in the top Indy star in Canada?
I'd love to answer that I am, but Bobby Rude deserves that distinction.

Many Real Action Wrestlers past and present have had try out matches with the WWE. Do you expect to get a shot anytime soon?
I had a shot in 2000 and I'm going to try again. Wish me luck!

The 2002 R.A.W. roster is much different than the 2001 roster. Which do you prefer? why?
I don't have a preference, I enjoyed and enjoy working with both rosters. I always try to make the best of the moment.

Real Action Wrestling has seemed to be going towards new younger talent this year (Lincoln Steen, Scott Savage, Sinder). Do you think this is a move in the right direction for R.A.W.?
There is a place for smaller guys and they are
improving daily.
Out of all the new talent on the R.A.W. roster who do you feel has what it takes to make name for them self?
Duke

What do you feel has been your career highlight?
Is this a question where I am supposed to drop names? ha ha. Actually though, after the leather strap match for TV, when I got back to the dressing room everybody applauded. I'll never forget how great that felt to me.

You have wrestled all across Canada what is the difference between the fans?
MB fans can be loud but very critical. East coast fans are awesome, always loud and not so critical.

Who do you work best with in the ring?
Offhand I'd say Joe Legend, Eddy Watts, and Bobby Rude.

When and where can we see you in action?
