Hello Sir how have you been ?
I'm really good, busy with the wrestling school and other things that I have on
the go.
Why the recent move back home to the Maritimes ?
C A T H Y !!! Hehehe, Calgary was a place I went to further my wrestling career
and for the first few years out there that was exactly what was happening. Right
up until 2001 when the promotion I was frequently working for (Can Am Wrestling)
stopped running regular shows until they eventually folded. So I found myself
living a regular lifestyle working a normal job and not doing what I had originally
gone to Calgary to do. So I decided to move back home to persue other options.
You have worked for GPW, RAW, MSW & ACW here
in the Maritimes. What do you think is being done to make East Coast Pro Wrestling
better?
East Coast Pro Wrestling is doing everything needed. They're studying where the
other promotions have gone wrong and learning from their mistakes. They've got
business investors and a lot of people behind the scenes making sure that ECPW
is going to run like a well oiled machine. The TV deal that's being worked on
is going to mean big things for the Maritimes.
What should be done to make sure that happens?
Behind the scenes everything is already being done to make sure that ECPW is going
to be different then the other promotions we've all seen fail in the Maritimes.
All that's need other than that is the support of the wrestling fans in the Maritimes.
If they put their trust into us by paying their money to see our shows, they won't
be disappointed.
There have been rumored many different things in
regards to TV. Can you give us any more details on this?
Right now I'm not at liberty to say anything other than what's been released.
Let's just say I'm a very skeptical person, and even I'm excited about what could
happen for the Maritimes.
Why do you think Kentville was picked to host ECPW 's first show in 2005 ?
As someone who's been wrestling in Kentville for a lot of years now, I know that
Kentville has a dedicated crowd of wrestling fans. Most poeple saw Halifax as
being the obvious choice, but ECPW wanted to try out a different town.
How were the Sinner Camp students in 2004 , compared
to other students you have seen them train in the past ?
I wasn't involved at all in the previous Sinner's camps but 2 promising students
came out of the 2004 class that could have a bright future ahead of them in the
Maritimes. Pete and Mike did a really great job of training all of their students.
What are your thoughts on the whole Ring Of Honor
concept, the feild of honor, the code of honor, pretty much promoting it's product
as more of a sport, then sports entertainment?
In all honest I've never seen a Ring of Honor show and have no clue what it's
all about. I've heard good things about it, so I'm sure what they're doing is
probably positive, but I can't really comment myself.
Do you think that could work here the in Maritimes?
Like I said I'm not really familiar with the concept they're putting out, but
I think the Maritime fans appreciate the good old fashioned style of professional
wrestling.
What wrestlers do you think need to be brought in
to help make ECPW a success?
Every wrestler that will be on the show are all equally important, they all have
their own role to play. There are talks about bringing in Colt Cabana, Bobby Rude,
and Flesh. A few other names are being tossed around, but that'll all come out
down the road. I think a good mix of established wrestlers and fresh faces will
work.
Which do you think is a better idea brining in older
WWE stars or bringing in top level indy talent (Aj Styles, Chris Daniels ect.)
or a mix of both ?
Bringing in former WWE guys is always good for a show but then you run into a
lot of financial expenses. Personally I think guys like AJ Styles, Chris Daniels,
Jerry Lynn, etc are guys that are more affordable and will work their asses off
on a show. If you've got the money to bring in one of these old WWE guys and still
have the rest of your roster be solid then it can be worth it. If the rest of
your roster isn't putting on a good show, what's going to make the fans come back
when the name is no longer there?
Why do you think ECPW picked to run it's first show
as the Maritime Cup?
It just makes sense to join the two together to have the best wrestling show you
can put out. It also gives ECPW a chance to crown a champion and the Maritime
Cup to continue it's legacy.
What do you think of Tony Armstrong trying to lose
weight and get him self into better shape?
You can't blame the guy for wanting to lose weight, he's obviously looking to
better himself physically and health wise. As far as his gimmick goes I'm sure
he's a good enough wrestler that he will adapt to his physical size.
Ring of Honor has made most of their money on internet
video sales, do you think is something that could help make ECPW special? by that
I mean making video's of each show for sale, which is something that hasn't been
done in the Maritimes before.
I'm sure it could be a way for ECPW to make some money, but I don't think it's
something that this company needs to rely on. Like you said it's never been done
in the Maritimes so it would be interesting to see how sales would go.
Who do you think has the best shot at becoming the
first ECPW champion (other than yourself of course)
I think the advantage goes to Kingman, but I think it could easily be anyone on
the roster. Guys like Duke MacIsaac who is in the best shape of his life and is
working really hard on proving himself as a force to be reckoned with could easily
walk away as the Maritime Cup winner and ECPW champ.
Is there someone out there that you think is too
much of a risk, that you wouldn't get into the ring with?
The only two people that really come to mind are Taz and Dr. Death Steve Williams.
I've seen a lot of instances where they'll just dump guys right on their heads
with back suplexes and to me it's just not worth the risk.
Anything you would like to plug?
Well Wildman Academy of course. The first class will be officially opening it's
doors on March 1st. www.school.maritimewrestling.com and my website www.wildmanwilliams.com
What does the future hold for Gary Williams ?
If I knew that I could make a killing with a psychic hotline. Good things I hope.
I'm a lot more optimistic now then I was before, so I'm just hoping for the best.
Name Association

talented wrestler. I hope he gets his priorities straight because he could go
far.

a great wrestler.

with him really well. He's done very well for himself.
Sarah Stock - By far the best female talent
out there, she should be making big money in this business.
Flesh Gordon - The craziest guy I know.
Really good friend, and you gotta love his gimmick. Make sure he sends you tickets
for the gun show.
Duke MacIsaac - a really good friend of
mine, all around good worker, and if he stays focused like he is I think he's
got a bright future ahead of him.
Trash Canyon - One of the most determined
