How have you been?
I’ve been great.

There has been a lot of talk going back to 2005 about Wrestling With Reality now, Wrestling Reality going on TV, tell us your thoughts on all of this finally coming together?
It’s been 2 years of traveling uncertain waters. One week would be smooth sailing, and others would seem like there was a squall. But the fog started to clear and now we have open waters. Wrestling Reality has set sail and the wind is blowing strong.

What do you think about the roster that has been picked for this tour?
It’s the cream of the crop when it comes to the Maritimes. It’s got a great mix of talents, and some hard workers. With the talent that has been brought together, every single show on the tour will be fantastic and definitely worth MORE than the ticket price.

Who do you think has the biggest chance to step up and stand out on this tour?
The beauty of national television exposure is that everyone has the chance to showcase their talents and abilities. I think everyone will have a chance to step up and stand out on this tour. If you mean who do I think the people will react to the most, it’s hard to say.

What has been the hardest part of this whole process for you?
For me, the hardest part would be the sacrifices that I’ve made during the entire tenure of my wrestling career. From day 1 I’ve set out goals to attain. I put so much focus on wrestling that I sometimes alienate friends and family. That and I truly hate the dieting and long training hours that have lead up to these 6 days. It’s hard… but it’s worth it.

Your thoughts on the name change from Wrestling With Reality to Wrestling Reality.
It’s just a name. It’s a minor detail on the big picture. A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet. The proof is in the product. And the product is pretty solid.

What are your thoughts on being on the same network as TNA, NOAH & ROH do you seem them as competition or would you like to work with them in the future?
Considering the Fight Network airs TNA recap shows, old NOAH and ROH tapings, as well as Memphis Championship Wrestling from 2 years ago. And Wrestling Reality is bringing a fresh, unseen product to the table, I don’t really see those promotions as competition. Wrestling fans love wrestling. And the strong the product, the more they will watch it. I know Wrestling Reality will have a strong product.

Your thoughts on British star James Mason
Though I haven’t met or actually seen his work. He is one of those wrestler’s you hear about from many different sources. Everyone I know that has traveled to Europe to wrestle, Brody Steele, Gangrel, Mike Hughes, Duke MacIssac… have come to the Maritimes and have talked about James Mason. He’s a true workaholic. Over 300 matches every year. Works twice a night a lot. A guy with a reputation like James Mason is always good for business. I’m sure the Maritime fans will enjoy to get a little taste of the British style of wrestling.

Your thoughts on Duke MacIsaac not being on this tour?
I’m not sure why he’s not here. There’s likely a good reason, but since I don’t know why, I’m not going to really comment on it.

Do you think the explosion in popularity of Mix Marital Arts is going to hurt the wrestling business?
It’s hard to say. I love watching MMA. But it’s not entertainment. It’s sport. It shares a lot of similarities (the UFC) in the finished Televised product with televised wrestling. Take the latest Sanchez and Koschek fight. It was built by promoters as these two guys who hate each other finally getting into the octagon to settle a score. The stuff before the match was more entertaining than the match itself. All the promo packages they aired before the bell told a story and sold the fight to the fans. Then it wasn’t a blood bath… it was two guys in scientific match. Koschek keeps Sanchez at an arm’s length the entire fight. Gets the win by judges decision. People were pissed… felt like they were ripped off. That’s the main example of why MMA isn’t going to hurt the wrestling business. There’s no gamble with wrestling. The whole world knows it’s predetermined. But they tune in because they find it entertaining. There’s no real disappointment with watching wrestling.

Any closing comments?
If Wrestling Reality is coming to your town, do yourself a favor and check it out. And bring a friend, even a skeptic. You’re not really a wrestling fan if you have never taken in a live event. There’s one thing I’ve discovered over the last two years and that is that live shows are better than anything you can watch on Television. It’s better to experience it live.
