Lets go back to April/ May 2007 you had the chance
to go on the first ever Wrestling Reality Tour. Tell us what was like.
The Reality tour was one of the most influential weeks of my life for sure.
I mean obviously everything didn't go as planned on my part, but absolutely
no regrets. It was a great learning experience and I hope I get to work with
them again in the future.
You got sent home from the tour early, do you
think that was justified, or do you think they made a mistake?
Well its not like I was in favor of it, but it was a business decision that
was made and that I had to respect.
You were accused of being drunk during your interview
on the show, was that true?
If I had a nickel for every time I explained the story haha. What happened was,
yes, I had had a couple of drinks prior to the interview. I was not to the point
of inebriation, and I had discussed this with the producer before hand. He said
in the interview that I should embrace the fact that I was "The kid that
drinks", which by all means, after shows is true. But honestly I was shocked
to hear from Peter that he had gotten reports of me being drunk for the interview.
Anyway, I completely think me getting released for drinking before the interview
was justified, I just think the whole situation was embellished a bit much,
and also considering the dent it put in my credibility.
Overall was the tour a positive experience for
you?
Absolutely. I had a blast.
For the first time in your career you had the
TV cameras around you 24/7. What was that like?
I was a lot more comfortable with my life being recorded than I thought haha.
After the first day or two it was hard to even notice a camera in your face
or a boom mic floating above your head.
Did you change anything about the way you are
because of the cameras being around all the time?
Nope, the fans got the real deal haha.
What did you think of the final product that
aired on The Fight Network?
I was blown away with how well the production crew edited everything. Hats off
to Greg Hemmings and his crew.
How do you think you came across on the show?
I think Peter put it best, "Disrespectful little arrogant undependable
twat" haha. Its true though, looking back, I'm happy knowing I've definitely
matured in the past year.
Do you think that Wrestling Reality has helped
or hurt your career?
Well in the entertainment business, they say any publicity is good publicity.
I look at it as having the most air-time I've ever had, so that's good in my
books.
While you were on the WR tour who did you learn
from the most?
James Mason for sure, me and a couple of the other young guys were like sponges
the entire week.
How are things going with Innovative Hybrid Wrestling?
Very well actually. I think IHW is moving in a very positive direction. I've
been there since day one, and seeing what it has done in the past three years,
I'm excited to see where its going to go the next three. I'm looking forward
to the May 25th show.
Your thoughts on your ECPW debut last September
against Zero
I had been wanting to wrestle Zero in a singles match for a while. To this day,
I'll still say that was the best crowd I've ever worked. I couldn't believe
how into the show those fans were. It took me five minutes to get backstage
after my match because there was a mob of kids around me. About fifty of them
chased Titus back to the locker room wanting blood haha.
Your thoughts on the upcoming ECPW show on June
1st
I'm pumped, I can't wait to be in front of that crowd again. It looks like a
solid card so far. Hoping to pull off an even better show than last time.
Your thoughts on Tommy Ozbourne leaving the wrestling
business
Well the wrestling business just isn't for everyone. Obviously he had other
things in mind and best of luck to him.
Who do you think is the best in ring performer
in the Maritimes?
There are a lot of performers that are talented for different reasons. Off the
top of my head, and vetrans aside, IHW has been booking a young man from the
states named Luke Robinson. He's only been in the business 3 or 4 years (correct
me if I've been missinformed), and he's got indredible ring work. I believe
he's headed toward WWE development so catch him while he's in the maritimes.
Tell us your favourite road trip story so far
Wow, there's so many.. a lot of hotel events from the Reality tour that didn't
make the show haha. But off the top of my head, probably when me and Ryan Storm
got stranded four hours from home after working with Wrestling Reality for the
first time back in November 2005. The events that occurred throughout the next
twenty-four hours leading back to our home city were.. horrific haha.
What is next for Sidewinder?
I'm just going with the flow. Still hitting the gym and hitting the ring. Hoping
to get over seas when I think I have enough experience under my belt. Considering
dipping into other forms of entertainment like music or acting. Wrestling has
landed me with modelling jobs, so that kind of gave me the idea. So I'm just
going to toy with a couple different things and see how far I can go with them.
