Its been while since your last interview, How
have you been?
- Good, very good. Thanks for asking.
A little while ago you "retired" from
wrestling, why?
- The last year of wrestling for me has been nothing but pure shit. I wasn't
having fun and wasn't getting paid. Quebec is a terrible place for wrestling.
The boys don't get paid, and don't even complain because they were brought up
to wrestling like that. I'm not even kidding, there has to be at LEAST 30 to
40 feds in the province of Quebec alone and 80% of those feds are run by 20
year old wrestlers.
It's a great fucking time
You recently had a match, how was it? and why
did you return?
- Well, the match I had 6 months ago was pure shit. It was a gauntlet tag match,
we *Me and Marko* were working guys that couldn't work, it was terrible. At
the time I thought it was a perfect ending to a shitty last year in wrestling.
Then Marko Peewee and the R2W booker came up with a little spot for me, had
a chance to face my friends in a match and have a nice final match, not for
the money...But for the fun of it and it was.
This is what IHW promoter Dave Crawley had to
say about your retirement :
"I honestly don't know. I wish I did. I found
out just like every one else: through the Internet. Is it legit, is it a work?
I really don't know. Do I wish Suave gave us an advance warning? Yes. Do I think
Suave should have had a final IHW send off? Yes. Considering it was with IHW
where Suave got his start in pro wrestling, I think it would have only been
fitting. And I'm not going to sit here and get in to a who made who debut. The
fans will miss him."
Can you respond to this?
- I love my IHW family, I did tell them. I left messages on
Julien's and The Bones phone, which he got and never got back to me. I told
them 2 months in advance that I wouldnt wrestle past a certain date. Dave knew
in advance, I talked to Dave about once in the last year and a half and even
after that I offered to come back and work a tag match, me and marko Vs well...anybody...
and it was declined so yeah...
ihwrestling.ca has you quoted as saying "instead of bringing in guys like Peewee, Jay-Z, Marko, Giovanni and Dan Paysan you were bringing in bigger names like Broody Steele and Kowboy" What is your responce to this?
Jayz - 50$
Peewee - 50$
Marko - 50$
Alex Price - 50$
Any other guy from the States, Ontario Quebec - 50$
IHW doesn't have enough wrestlers on the roster to spend 200$ on 1 wrestler. Kowboy is the man, nothing but love and respect for Kowboy. Nothing against him or Peter, that's just how it is. I'm pretty sure on that show, Julien and Ryan Storm wrestled twice. As much as I love BT and Chris Tough, seeing them work each other every show gets pretty stale.
Dave Crawley also stated this in the interview
"Well here's where a lot of the rumors started.
I think there may be some sort of misconception with the talent of IHW. No one
has signed a contract. Nobody, other than their word, has guaranteed to appear
at a show. We are not the fed (WWE). We're not going to fine guys. They are
not under a contract so we're not going to fire them. That said, we have to
book guys around various schedules. Personal lives, work schedules, other wrestling
shows they have. And don't forget the weather. Sometimes it limits who we can
bring into a show.
One thing when it comes to the Quebec guys, we always pay their gas both ways. This is something that is not always returned. When IHW went to Quebec last year there was never any compensation for gas. So on our end it makes more sense to stretch the dollar further and have a car load come down rather than have one guy come.
That said, last February, we advertised Suave, but there was last minute car issues, so we paid his train both ways because he was advertised. The belt was left behind in Quebec, but that's a story for a different day.
So again, booking around one guys schedual, let alone 2 or 4 guys to come down together can be tough and is why the Quebec guys are not on every show.
I don't understand where there would be any issues
bringing in Steele and Kowboy. They are "big" names. They are in the
area. Truth be told it was supposed to be Broody Steele facing Titus in June,
but he ended up taking a tour overseas that was paying him and his family a
lot more then we were able to. We changed things up a bit and had Kowboy come
in September. The 'Kardnal Sinners TV Show' idea fell into our lap so we were
able to get out a Titus/Steele match after all. EVERYONE knows who they are
and came out to see them perform. They brought extra press and exposure in the
papers and television. In my mind it was a smarter business decision to work
with them when we did."
Can you respond to this?
*One thing when it comes to the Quebec guys, we always pay

The show in Quebec was not run by me, I said before that wrestling in Quebec
is shit. I told them that before booking them for the show *I was the middle
man to bring them in* I wanted to get them a booking in Quebec, they wanted
to work in diffrent provinces so it worked out. They got paid 80$ which was obviously
not enough, by an idiot 25 year old wrestling promoter. The booker gave them
an extra 60$ from his pocket, cause he felt so bad. I'm not sure what this has
to with me but ok.
*That said, last February, we advertised Suave, but there was last minute car issues, so we paid his train both ways because he was advertised. The belt was left behind in Quebec, but that's a story for a different day.*
LOL should I point out everything Dave Cawley/IHW fucked up on??
I messed up on one show, I admit it, I forgot the belt.
*I don't understand where there would be any issues bringing in Steele and Kowboy. They are "big" names. They are in the area.*
No problem at all but like I said...If you bring a name like Brody or Kowboy make sure you fill the rest of your card up with decent wrestlers so the fans can enjoy the entire show.
Why the fuck is Eric Atlas still wrestling in IHW??? It's not funny and he
can't work....and they pay him....fucking christ....
Do you think you will work for IHW again?
-Never say never but I can't see it happening. IHW had so much
potential!!! Go back to Sept of 2007..Even a few shows before that we were drawing
300 people a night. Then the Septembre show were Honky Vs Titus and Me Vs Storm
happend. We drew 500 people, we kept up the 300 people a show for a few months
then shit go stale again and now back to 150 people a show. I never cared about
money, I just wanted the show to be good. Since day 1, I always talked to the
bookers about my storylines. The build up I had with Ryan Storm was great and
why was it great?? Cause noone from the *booking* team touched it. It was all
me and Storm. The only way to get a decent feud in IHW is to book it yourself.
It's sad cause I love IHW but the only way it's going to get out of the rutt
they're in is to give the booking to someout out of their circle. Cause the
Julien Vs Titus stuff isnt going to work anymore. I love both of them, and they
are terrific workers but it's been done...
Your thoughts on not being booked for the 2007
Wrestling Reality tour
-I was suppost to be on the show, Brody called me up and said * you wanna work
WR* Of course I said yes.
Now before I go any further, let me go back about 3 years. Peter Smith *Brody Steele* was someone I tried to get as much information as possible off of. He's been around the world and I respected him alot. He always told me that the first rule in wrestling is always talk money before you say yes to a booking.
So when he asked me to be on WR I was thrilled.... But then I asked about money and he got offended so that's what happend. Me and Marko were suppost to be on the show we got bumped for the same reason.
Why have you not competed for ECPW or MSW?
- The dates never worked out between me and Sheldon *ECPW* basicly
the same with MSW but with less professionalism. Sheldon is a good guy, I would
of loved to have worked for him.
Compare the wrestling scene in Quebec to the
Maritimes
Maritimes - not enough
Quebec - too much
Your thoughts on Sidewinder being sent home early
from the 2007 Wrestling Reality tour
- What did he get kicked off for again??
It was a little ridiculous, I've known sideshit for years now. He's 300 times crazier then what he was on TV. It was obviously planned since day 1 . I'm not sure what kind of impact they were trying to make. How can a fan care about someone getting kicked off the show if we've only seen him once or twice in the past episodes.
Did you get to see Wrestling Reality when it
aired on the Fight Network? What were your thoughts?
- I was proud of my boys, Julien, Titus and Side all did a great job in the
roles that they had. The show itself was, well not very good. While watching
this I kept thinking to myself, *this is what Peter Smith was promising to everyone
for all these years ?? All the *do as I say and I'll bring you places and make
you famous??*
But still, I'm happy for the boys that were on the show.
Your thoughts on the upcoming Kardinal Sinners
series airing on Rush HD
- Hope they got a better producer/director. More of Trash Canyon not being able
to work and telling the younger guys with 200 times more experience then him
what to do..YAY!!!!
Your thoughts on Tommy Ozbourne leaving the wrestling
business
That's to bad, he left pretty early. I wish he would of traveled a bit more,
great natural skill.
Who do you think is the best in ring performer
in the Maritimes?
-I'd still have to say Titus, he's got a terrific look and great abilities.
He can work a match perfectly.
ummm I havent been around in awhile. I'm sure the boys that wrestle for Chris Cooke and all of them are doing well but I can't comment because I havent seen any of them.
Why isnt IHW trying to book them?? They complain about not having a roster....I know for a fact that Jamie Hamilton, Sexton Phoenix Chris Cooke would love to come up and work. But again, the laziness factor comes in to play. Or maybe they like seeing Bt Vs Chris Tough or Atlas Vs Zero....great times
Who do you think is the best in ring performer
in the Quebec?
-Marko Estrada, I've never seen him have a bad match. He can
seriously make anyone look good. He's got an ego lol but he knows he's good.
Other then that, Frankie the Mobster worked a dark match for WWE and is working ROH next month.
I'm not mentioning guys like El Generico and Kevin Steen, they're more international now then local Quebec guys.
Do you have any regrets with your wrestling career?
- Tons, but nothing that will stop me from loving the life I
have now.
Tell us your favourite road trip story
- The peewee MArko Suave roadtrips were fucking great.
But the best roadtrip ever has to be the MAritime Cup 3 road trip!! What a fun night. The show itself was great, still the best show ive ever worked. The after party was booming, girls everywhere!!! I ended up sleeping at a girl wrestler's house *which will remain nameless* with sidewinder and Marko. Let's just say someone got a hell of a ride that night . then we woke up late and had to bum a ride off that same girl.
Those were the good ol' days
Your thoughts on how far IHW has come as a company?
- We were once on top yeah, and it was great.
GET A REAL BOOKER DAVE!!! Julien, Titus, Serge, Dave I love you guys. It's time
to stop making fucking excuses and do something...Or just be content with a
decreasing fan base.
What is next for you?
-Well, nothing really. I keep getting offers but I just don't want to do it
anymore. I was called to work the big IWS/Kevin Nash show in Montreal 2 weeks
ago. I just, don't feel like doing it anymore. The only real fed I loved was
IHW and the shows just don't have the same quality.
So maybe I'll see you guys soon. I miss everyone, the fans, the boys, it was a fun chapter in my life and I don't regret one thing.
Thanks for everythning, I gave you my all and I know most of you appreciated
it.
